Labour list MP Jacinda Ardern stopped by The 13th Floor to play some of her favourite music. The 13th Floor realised Jacinda was serious about her music when she was spotted spinning discs at Real Groovy Records on International Record Store day earlier this year. Now, here’s your chance to listen in as Jacinda Ardern hosts her first streaming radio programme.

Santana and the Steve Miller Band are getting together to co-headine two shows in New Zealand this month. They will play at the Christchurch CBS Canterbury Arena on Sunday, March 17th and in Auckland at The Vector Arena on Tuesday, March 19th. The promoters have supplied The 13th Floorwith a 45 min. radio show featuring interviews and music with both Carlos Santana and Steve Miller. One of the most intriguing stories of 2012 was the alleged disappearance of Killing Joke frontman Jaz Coleman. Well, we’ll start out the new year by revealing that Jaz is right here at The 13th Floor. To get 2013 going in the right direction Jaz Coleman has agreed to host a 13th Floor streaming radio show in which he plays some of his most influential tracks. As one would expect from a man who excels in both the rock and classical worlds, Jaz’s tastes run all over the map from reggae to punk, from classical to metal. Listen in as Jaz Coleman shares, not only some of his favourite musical tracks, but also stories that include his friends from Joy Division, Can and Bauhaus, among others.

Kurt Shanks, former member of Stellar, has just released his first album under his own name. The title is Blood Line Heart and it features Kurt along with his band The Drakes and a few special guests. Kurt Shanks dropped by The 13th Floor to record his thoughts about several tracks from the album.

Lawrence Arabia, aka James Milne, has recently stopped by The 13th Floor to record his own streaming radio programme. Perhaps not coincidentally, a brand new Lawrence Arabia album, titled The Sparrow, has just been released. Hot on the heels of the release of his new band’s self-titled debut album Nameless Sons, Paul McLaney has hosted a radio programme for The 13th Floor. In addition to Nameless Sons and his solo work, Paul is known for his other band Gramsci and for his involvement with the mysterious IMMRAM project (see the brand new video here).
