Meow Meow’s Little Mermaid – Speigeltent (Theatre Review)

Hans Christian Anderson will either be laughing uncontrollably or turning uncomfortably in his grave, as Australia’s ” Kamikaze-cabaret ” ( Festival programme description ) performer , Meow Meow, takes his time honoured tale of the self sacrificial mermaid, and body- surfs that aquatic creature right out of her innocence  and into a raunchy ,crying, touching, irreverent,  laughing , and at times , moving tale –  replete with songs from her ” heavenly vocal chords” (as London’s Evening Standard so aptly described them . )

No Man’s Land – Auckland Town Hall (Theatre Review)

On Friday night, in Auckland’s Town Hall, I was blessed . Blessed to be a part of a multi media performance that was so special, so heart -centred, so fresh and alive in each moment of its delivery , that it has taken me twenty four hours to process the beauty of what I saw and to be able to put some of that at least, into words for a review.
