Hollie Smith – San Francisco Bath House (Concert Review)

Hollie 3The last time many Wellingtonians saw Hollie Smith was nearly two years ago, at WOMAD, New Plymouth.  Back then she was elegantly decked out in her customary black – black dress, black boots, dark make up and long jet black hair.

Mike Noga To Open For Low

Mike Noga 2016The 13th Floor has just learned that Mike Noga is set to open for Low during their two shows in New Zealand this week. Mike is the former drummer for Australian rockers The Drones. His 2012 solo album, The Balladeer Hunter, has garnered rave reviews. And, it looks like Mike has more exciting new music in the works. Here’s some information he just sent to us: “Shows will focus on his brand new album ‘KING‘. A dark, psychedelic concept album based on George Büchner‘s famous 1830’s play ‘Woyzeck’. This is Noga’s most ambitious project yet. Featuring Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones, Almost Famous) as “The Narrator” and produced by Something For Kate’s Paul Dempsey, ‘KING’ is the tale of one mans decent into madness and the bloodshed that follows. A one of a kind, immersive album unlike anything heard in Australia to date”.

Low and Mike Noga play Wellington’s Bodega on Friday, April 1st and Auckland’s Kings Arms on Saturday, April 2nd. Click here for more details.
